SALISBURY — Eddie Monroe, father of fallen firefighter Justin Monroe, remains in serious condition at Wake Forest Baptist Health Care in Winston-Salem after suffering numerous injuries in a motorcycle accident Sunday in Montgomery County.
Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell mentioned Eddie Monroe today in his remarks when the city unveiled to the media pieces of steel from the World Trade Center.
His son, Justin Monroe, died in 2008 at age 19 while fighting the Salisbury Millwork fire. Victor Isler Sr. also died in the blaze, and Capt. Rick Barkley was seriously injured.
