The US Airways chartered Flight of Honor will include 120 World War II veterans from 13 N.C. counties and 23 cities and towns.
Sponsored by Rotary District 7680, the one-day roundtrip from Charlotte takes the veterans to the War II Memorial and other sites of interests in Washington, D.C.
The flight, lunch and stops in Washington do not cost the veterans anything. Another Flight of Honor is being planned for September.
