Three West Rowan High School students have been cited with stalking after authorities say they harassed and threatened a classmate in person and online.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Keaniece Lee, 16, of Salisbury, Mik’Quasha Pruitt, 17, of Salisbury, and Nakiya McCullough, 16, of Cleveland, have all been cited.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, the girls threatened a female classmate at her workplace and a local restaurant, and they parked outside her home.
Lee also posted on Facebook that she and the other two girls would be waiting outside for the classmate when she came to school. The classmate didn’t show up that day, and meeting with West Rowan Principal Jamie Durant and the school resource officer, the girl’s mother said it was because she was afraid.
After looking at the Facebook posting and seeing that it included the name of the school, Durant suspended Lee, according to the report.
The school resource officer cited the girls after speaking with their mothers and consulting the District Attorney’s Office.
