LANDIS ó The town board will meet today to discuss ways to overcome a $178,000 budget shortfall.
At a budget workshop last week, town staff provided seven options that would create a balanced budget.
The board struck down a tax increase, instead opting to consider giving employees furlough days, which saved the town $60,000 last year, and layoffs.
The board also discussed contracting out itís sanitation services. If that happens, the town would not need the employees in its sanitation department, though the company that takes over the service might hire them.
The board meets at 6 p.m. in town hall, 312 S. Main St.
