CHAPEL HILL ó North Carolina has signed Stilman White of Hoggard High School in Wilmington to a letter of intent, bringing in an Associated Press All-State pick to bolster its point guard depth.
The Tar Heels were thin after Larry Drew II quit at midseason, forcing Dexter Strickland to take on more ball-handling duties behind starter Kendall Marshall.
Coach Roy Williams says White has the toughness and competitiveness the coach wants at point guard.
North Carolina will return at least four starters from a team that won 29 games, the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title and got within a game of the Final Four. The Tar Heels are still awaiting word on whether freshman Harrison Barnes will declare for the NBA draft.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. ó Freshman guard Josh Selby is declaring for the NBA draft, leaving Kansas with only two players who had a significant role in last seasonís 35-3 record.
Earlier, twin forwards Marcus and Markieff Morris, last seasonís top scorers and rebounders, hired an agent and announced they would skip their senior seasons.
The 6-foot-3 Selby was rated the overall No. 1 prospect in the nation when Kansas coach Bill Self signed him last year, but was suspended the first nine games by the NCAA for amateurism violations. He also missed several more with a foot injury and wound up averaging 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 26 games.

BAYONNE, N.J. ó Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was arrested in his hometown of Bayonne, N.J., on Tuesday after an officer reported seeing him speeding.
Britt, 22, faces charges of eluding the officer, hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental function, Bayonne Police Chief Robert Kubert said.
Britt was driving his blue Porsche at 71 mph in a 50-mph zone Tuesday afternoon, according to Kubert, who said Britt drove away from the officer and was eventually found on side street walking away from the car. Kubert said Britt first denied being in the car, then denied driving and then finally admitted he was behind the wheel.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. ó Former Auburn star Nick Fairley is trying not to get stressed out by fluctuations in his NFL draft stock.
The Lombardi Award-winning defensive tackle went from buzz that he would be the first player picked to being forecast as a likely top-10 choice amid questions about his work ethic.
Fairley says it ěwould be a very stressful deal for meî if he paid attention to that talk and says his work ethic is fine.
He has had private interviews with Denver, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Tennessee and Washington. All six teams pick in the top 10.

Na set a PGA Tour low Thursday with a 16 on the par-4 ninth, chopping his way through a nightmarish hole during an otherwise solid first round. The South Korean was a combined 4 under on the other 17 holes to finish 8-over 80.
Adam Scott, the defending champion, was a stroke back in his first round since his runner-up finish at the Masters. Scott shot a 68 and was tied with Charley Hoffman, Jhonattan Vegas, Vaughn Taylor and Kevin Chappell.
INDY 500
INDIANAPOLIS ó Four Indianapolis 500 winners will try to qualify for this yearís race.
There are 35 driver-car combinations listed among the entrants for the raceís centennial celebration. The 83-car list is the highest total since 2002.
Past winners trying to make this yearís traditional 33-car field are three-time winner Helio Castroneves, two-time winner and defending champ Dario Franchitti and former series points champs Scott Dixon and Dan Wheldon.
The first woman to ever lead the race, Danica Patrick, is one of three women hoping to qualify. Five rookies also will attempt to make the field, and 18 of the 35 drivers have one at least one victory in open-wheel racing.
The race is scheduled for May 29.
