SALISBURY — Police say a stay at the Happy Traveler Inn led to numerous charges for a Salisbury woman.
According to the report, Wendy Beeker of Gray Shores Trading Co., 119 S. Main St., put her purse down on a chair and the suspect, Pamela Lynch, took it and ran out the door.
Lynch apparently used one of the stolen credit cards to register at the Happy Traveler, but put the room in her own name, police reported today.
Police were able to discover Lynch went to Food Lion twice, spending more than $300; spent $107 at Shoe Show; booked a room at the Happy Traveler Inn; and spent about $50 at Formz, police said. Video of Lynch inside several of the stores also proved she was using Beeker’s stolen credit cards.
A visit to Happy Traveler Inn found Lynch inside a room and in possession of marijuana, the police report says.
Lynch was charged with two felony counts of taking a financial transaction card, three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She was booked in the Rowan County jail under a $35,000 secured bond.
