SALISBURY – Salisbury Police are looking for a man who reportedly robbed a Papa John’s Pizza delivery driver with a gun last night taking his iPhone and cash.
Around 10 p.m. last night, delivery driver Michael Sterling told officers he couldn’t find the address on Vance Avenue where the was supposed to deliver the pizzas.
He called the person back who ordered them, and the person asked Sterling to wait in his car, telling Sterling that he would walk over to him.
Sterling got out of his car with the pizzas to meet the man, who began to make small talk.
As Sterling went for the receipt with the total, the man pulled out a gun, made Sterling lay on the ground, robbed him of $45, an iPhone and three pizzas, then ran down the street.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20’s, wearing a black baseball cap with a white logo on the front, and a thick black jacket.
Police were able to locate Sterling’s iPhone later through Apple’s GPS. They found in a trash can outside of the Circle K, 1015 E. Innes St.
Police are still investigating.
