SALISBURY — Authorities say a Salisbury man accused of inappropriately touching two juvenile females and trying to bribe them with beer for more, is now behind bars.
Antonio Lopez Mendez, 58, of 1018 Archer Acres Drive, was charged Thursday with indecent liberties with children, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and prostitution -paying a minor for having participated. He is in the Rowan County jail under a $75,000 secured bond.
Authorities reported Mendez had inappropriate contact with two female juveniles who live nearby, involving inappropriate touching; requests for more were not fulfilled. Authorities say Mendez also attempted to bribe the juveniles by using beer, which led to the prostitution charge, the sheriff’s office reported.
