Womenís health and wellness are topicsat breakfast event
To honor and celebrate women, and on the heels of Womenís History Month, Pfeiffer University is hosting a special event to address womenís health and wellness issues on Friday, April 15. The event will be held on the universityís Charlotte campus, 4701 Park Road, just minutes from uptown.
The lecture and other related activities will be held from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost to attend is $7.50 per person or $40 for a table of 6, which includes breakfast. Guest speaker for the event is Cindy Rhodes, the director of Social Services at The Pines at Davidson. Rhodesí particular field of interest is mind/ body medicine and she will share new information about women and integrative medicine. The Davidson College and UNC Charlotte graduate has participated in numerous professional trainings with Jon Kabat-Zinn and at Duke Integrative Medicine. She has spoken on various topics related to integrated medicine and with her son-in-law, who is a Tibetan doctor, her husband, who is a practicing physician, and her daughter entering medical school, she brings a passion to the topic.
The event is sponsored by the School of Adult Studies at Pfeiffer and the Francis Center for Servant Leadership. Graduate students will display their health administration posters for guests and servant leadership awards will recognize two women who have made and continue to make a difference in their communities and globally.
