A Salisbury man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after running from police with crack rocks and cocaine in his pockets, police reported today.
Desjuan Montre Clawson, 20, of 418 Ludwick Ave., was charged with resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance.
Police said they received a call about an attempted breaking and entering at an East Bank Street apartment Tuesday afternoon, and when they arrived, they saw Clawson outside the building and told him they were investigating a report of a suspicious person.
Clawson, who was standing outside an apartment door, pointed to a girl inside the apartment, said she was his girlfriend, and then took off running, the report said.
Officers chased Clawson, catching him and securing him with handcuffs several blocks away.
Police found two baggies in his pockets – one containing 1 gram of crack cocaine, and the other containing 4 grams of cocaine.
Clawson was placed in jail under a $2,500 secured bond.
