A man authorities say shoved a Food Lion employee out of a doorway and made off with a large amount of meat has been arrested for common law robbery.
William Grayson Greene, 54, of 622 S. Caldwell St., was arrested Tuesday for the robbery while he was in Rowan County court, and given a $20,000 secured bond.
Salisbury Police have had an outstanding warrant for Greene’s arrest since the April 21, 2010 incident.
Police said Greene was in the meat aisle at a Salisbury Food Lion, putting meat in his shopping cart, but also stuffing it down his shirt. When an employee approached him near the front of the store, Greene pushed the employee, and ran out the door with the meat, the report said.
