Rowan man sought on felony charges
Authorities were searching for a western Rowan County man Friday evening after raiding his house and finding drugs and illegal liquor, a Rowan County Sheriffís Office press release said.
Levar Everette, 33, of 1335 Rankin Road, Cleveland, faces several felony charges, the press release said.
The Sheriffís Office Special Investigations Unit started investigating Everette several months ago after getting a tip that he was selling crack cocaine, according to the press release. Detectives with the Rowan and Iredell sheriffís departments partnered in an undercover operation and bought crack cocaine from Everette several times at the Rankin Road house, the press release said.
Rowan detectives served a search warrant at the house Friday. They seized a small amount of marijuana and illegal white liquor. Everette had left the house just before the raid.
Investigators ask anybody with information on his whereabouts to contact Detective Gregory Bacote at 704-216-8772, Lt. Chad Moose at 704-216-8687 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
