Man charged with copper theft

Salisbury Police arrested a Salisbury man Thursday in connection with a copper theft in China Grove.
Robert Glenn Sapp, 33, of 1040 Bassinger Kluttz Road, has been arrested and charged with felony larceny.
The China Grove Police Department received a report that six copper gutter downspouts had been stolen from Community One Bank and Farms and Merchants Bank in China Grove on Feb. 10.
The copper was valued at $6,000.
China Grove detectives issued a warrant for Sapp’s arrest on Feb. 22.
Sapp has also charged with failure to appear for not showing up in court Wednesday for charges of second-degree trespassing.
He is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $7,000 secured bond.
