Four people were arrested Wednesday in a drug raid near China Grove by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies received information in February that Shawn Jamell West, 24, of 483 Jackson Road, Salisbury, was involved in the sale of marijuana and that many of his customers were teenagers.
The Sheriff’s Office investigated and reportedly confirmed that West was selling marijuana from a house at 620 Corriher Gravel Road near China Grove. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the house and served it on Wednesday.
During the raid, detectives found several people inside the house and about 1 pound of high-grade marijuana. The marijuana was packaged for sale in plastic bags and stored in glass jars, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Detectives also seized about $1,800 in cash.
Four people were arrested and charged with felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony conspiracy to sell and deliver marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
