The city of Salisbury is investigating some members of the Salisbury Fire Department.
The city has placed two firefighters on paid administrative leave while considering possible disciplinary action and suspended a third firefighter for misconduct.
Chester Hedrick was suspended Tuesday, according to Zach Kyle, the city’s director of human resources.
Kyle said the city also placed two firefighters on paid administrative Jan. 17. He would not provide their names, even though the Post’s attorney, Amanda Martin, said that information should be released under the state’s public records law.
“We have completed the investigation and cannot release the requested information until final action has taken place,” Kyle said in an e-mail to the Post.
As soon as the city makes a final decision regarding the firefighters, officials will provide the Post with more information related to the newspaper’s request, Kyle said.
“There has been other disciplinary action related to your request, however we cannot disclose any additional information until these decisions become final,” Kyle said.
