Two horses attacked by dogs

Two horses, living in opposite ends of the county, were attacked by pit bulls Tuesday.
The first attack happened Tuesday morning at a farm on Sells Road.
The horse, Honey, was attacked by a pit bull named Lucy, and suffered from two puncture wounds and two tear wounds to her legs. Honey’s owners, Mark and Tammy Fisher, keep the horse there on their son’s farm, and are upset this is the second time the horse has been attacked by the same pit bull.
“I hope I find that dog,” Mark Fisher said.
Bruce Rufty of Bernhardt Road has kept two horses in the pasture in front of his home since 1992, and has never had any incident involving other animals attacking his horses.
Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. a pit bull living a few doors down ran down the street and bit Rufty’s 28-year-old horse, Gypsy, on the inside of her front right leg and punctured a back leg.
Both horses are recovering, and both Fisher and Rufty are worried dogs will strike again.
