Saturday show will support United Negro College Fund
ěAn Evening of Stars!î will be shown Saturday night as a fundraiser for the United Negro College Fund.
The show, which has been airing for 32 consecutive years, was formerly called ěThe Lou Rawls Parade of Stars.î
This yearís broadcast Saturday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on WBTV 3 will include a special tribute to legendary R&B singer Chaka Khan. It will air Sunday on BET (Black Entertainment Television) and WGN out of Chicago. Check your local listings for air times.
Livingstone College gets support from the United Negro College Fund, which is comprised of 39 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. UNCFís website says 60 percent of students supported by UNCF are the first in their families to attend college, 62 percent come from families with an annual income of less than $25,000 and 93 percent qualify for financial aid.
