One man has been taken to hospital after a vehicle accident on Jake Alexander Boulevard this morning. 
Michael Alexander, 59, of Charlotte, was transported to Rowan Regional Medical Center after his Pontiac Grand Am collided with a snack delivery truck about 9:30 a.m. near the intersection with Brenner Avenue.
“(The Grand AM) was attempting to make a U-turn and didn’t see the truck coming up behind him,”?Salisbury Police Officer J.P. Miller said.  
Miller said Alexander was conscious and alert this afternoon. 
Tim Howard, the driver the of truck, said he was getting into the turn lane to make a delivery at Harris Teeter when the car cut in front of him. 
“I did everything I could to stop and not hit him, but I couldn’t do it on these roads,” he said. 
The road was slippery from morning showers.
Howard, an independent operator for Snyder’s of Hanover, said he this is his first accident in more than a decade on the job. The condition of the other driver is unknown. Read Thursday’s Post for more details.
Howard, 43, of Mocksville was not injured in the accident. 
Miller said charges are pending an investigation. 
The Salisbury Police Department, Salisbury Fire Department and Rowan EMS responded tot he scene.
