• The city of Salisbury Transit System will operate on a two-hour delay today. They will run from 8:15 a.m. until 6:45 p.m.
Garbage collection is under way. Citizens are asked to place their garbage collection bins at the curb on their typical collection day and to leave them in this location until waste can be collected. If necessary, garbage collection may occur on Saturday and Sunday.
Citizens are advised to leave collection bins at the curb over the weekend if solid waste has yet to be collected.
The same applies to recycling.
• In Kannapolis, solid waste collection will occur as normally scheduled for today and Friday.
Due to the winter storm and lingering icy road conditions, solid waste collection originally scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week has been delayed until next week. Residents with Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday collection should place their cart at the curb on their regularly scheduled day.
• In Concord, Rider Transit will attempt to start all routes at the normal time. Check www.ckrider.com and www.facebook.com/ridertransit for updates.
Solid waste services will collect items on the Thursday and Friday routes. Customers should leave items at the curb until they are collected. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday customers’ garbage and recycling will be picked up next week; all Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday customers should place garbage and recycling items at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday. Customers may place extra garbage tied in bags next to their roll-out carts.
