Pickup wrecks into neighbor's home

Icy patches caused a Salisbury man to lose control of his truck Monday, sliding off the road and into the side of his neighbor’s home.
Miller’s Ferry firefighter Trevor Graham said the house at 235 Kern Carlton Road has “minimal structural damage” and no one was injured in the accident.
Michael Reap, 33, of 675 Kern Carlton Road, was traveling on Kern Carlton Road toward Long Ferry Road when his Ford Ranger skidded off the road about 11 a.m.
“It’s a weather-related incident,” he said. “The roads are slick and the vehicle lost control and veered into the house,” Graham said.
Graham said the incident was the third call of the day for Miller’s Ferry firefighters. Both were minor, but “as conditions get worse” he expects more calls.
If possible, Graham urges motorists to stay off the roads. If they have to venture out he says to “drive safe” and “be easy on the breaks.”
