Two homeless people trying to get warm Saturday were charged with breaking and entering a building on East Innes Street.
The caretaker of the property at 305 E. Innes St. called Salisbury Police around 5 p.m. Saturday to report he saw two people enter the building.
Police found Tammie Plummer Gatewood, 47, and Bobby Wayne Estes, 64, on the inside.
Gatewood told police they had come inside to get warm. They had turned on the heat and were trying to heat some food over the heater.
Both were charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $500 bond each.
In other Salisbury Police reports or arrests:
– Two Salisbury residents have reported money was taken from their accounts using ATM machines.
One victim reported $506 was taken from his account.
Another reported that an unspecified amount was taken out at an ATM by someone not authorized to use the card.
Salisbury Police also report the following charges:
– Timothy McCain, 21, was charged with felony breaking and entering.
– Shakeil Dewon Roberson, 16, was charged with carrying concealed weapons at 629 Marsh St.
