Each year Salisbury dentist Dr. Steve Yang chooses a charity or special cause to donate money to, and this year he chose the Christmas Happiness Fund.
Yang donated $100 in honor of his office staff ó Shelly, Becky, Sonya, Melissa, Angie, Jennifer and Christina.
“This year I chose Christmas Happiness mainly from reading about it the other days and how down (in contributions) they were from previous years,” he said.
A few years ago, he gave to the Christmas Happiness Fund in honor of his patients.
Yang wrote his staff a note telling them of the contribution. The contribution was “for what they do for the practice and our patients,” he said.
Yang has been practicing in Salisbury for 12 years.
“The majority of my staff have been with me all 12 years,” Yang said.
He especially likes to donate to charitable organizations that involve or benefit children.
Yang and his wife, Lori, founded the Michael Yang Foundation, an organization that supports various programs for children and teens.
Last week’s total $43,581.25
