Hartley completes Air Force basic training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Robert J. Hartley graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
The son of Cheryl Hartley of Audubon Lane, Salisbury, Hartley is a 2009 graduate of North Rowan High School, Spencer.
Moore graduates from Army basic training
Army National Guard Pvt. Jacob Moore has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
The nine weeks of training included training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
The son of Terry Moore of Poole Road, Salisbury, Moore is a 2006 graduate of East Rowan High School, Salisbury.
