Church presents Singing Christmas Tree

West Corinth Baptist Church presents a Singing Christmas Tree program, “Christmas is Jesus,” Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The program is free and open to the public with limited seating.
The church is located on Hwy. 152 between China Grove and Mooresville.
Sacred Heart schedule
Sacred Heart Catholic Church will celebrate Christmas Masses at the new church, 375 Lumen Christi Lane.
Christmas Eve Masses are: 5 p.m., children’s Mass; 7 p.m., youth Mass; Mass in Spanish, 9 p.m.; Christmas caroling begins at 11:15.
Mass at midnight brings in Christmas day. Other masses are at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
Special music will be provided by the music ministry.
Blue Christmas
KANNAPOLIS ó Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, 101 Vance St. in Kannapolis, is holding a “Blue Christmas” worship service at 7 p.m. on Dec. 23 for those who find this to be a difficult season.

St. Paul’s Episcopal
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 930 S. Main St., will hold its annual Christmas Eve service beginning with a Christmas Carols sing at 10:30 p.m. This will be followed by Holy Eucharist at 11 p.m. All are welcome.
South China Grove
CHINA GROVE ó On Dec. 20, at 11 a.m., the South China Grove Baptist Church Choir will present “God Speaking Throughout the Ages…and Still Today” a dramatic Christmas musical.
A church-wide covered dish dinner will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the church’s Family Life Center.
At 6 p.m., the youth will present a Christmas play entitled, “Between Sundays” in the church sanctuary.
New Beginning
KANNAPOLIS ó New Beginning Church of God, 1124 Thomas Ave., is holding a “Helpers, One to Another” benefit program at 3 p.m. Dec. 20 in honor of the Maxwell Family. Co-Pastor Chavis and Tosha Maxwell’s son, Keenan, has been hospitalized since Nov. 8.
Dr. Randy C. Minor of Mt. Calvary Holiness Church, Statesville, will speak. Those who would like to make a financial contribution to the Maxwells may send it to P.O. Box 84, Kannapolis, NC 28081, with checks payable to Chavis Maxwell. Contribution will be acknowledged at the program.

The Village Church
CONCORD ó At 7 p.m. on Dec. 22, The Village Church, 9280 Davidson Highway, will present a special program.
National storytelling champion “Mama” will share her award-winning “Red Balloon” and afterwards share some children’s stories in the new storytime area. Young and old can enjoy a candy cane and learn the symbolism inside that little treat.
There will be a vivid, powerful re-enactment. Special musical performances will be provided by local soloist Taylor Draper, along with 12Stone from the Atlanta area.
Shady Grove Baptist
Shady Grove Baptist Church, 220 Shady Grove Church Road, Mt. Ulla, will be having an appreciation service for the Rev. and Mrs. Roger A. Williamson on Dec. 20.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. The second service will begin at 3 p.m. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m.
Trinity Presbyterian
A special Christmas cantata will be presented at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 300 S. Caldwell St., on Dec. 20 during the 11 a.m. morning service. The presentation will include the announcement and birth of Jesus.

S. Iredell AME Zion
TROUTMAN ó South Iredell AME Zion Church will hold its Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 p.m. with the Adults and Young Adults presenting “Celebration through Lessons and Hymns.” The Youth will present “Not the Last Straw,”children’s recitations and “The Reason for the Season.”

Concordia Lutheran
CHINA GROVE ó This Sunday at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 185 Concordia Church Road, the children of the church will present their Christmas program, “Christmas All Around,” during the Sunday school hour.
At the 11 a.m. service, the chancel choir will present a Christmas cantata, “Christmas! I Love to Tell the Story,”
On Dec. 24, the annual Christmas Eve pageant will be presented at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be Holy Communion and a candlelight service.
The public is invited to these special services.
Outreach Ministries

St. John’s Lutheran
A Service of Lessons and Carols will be offered twice on Sunday, Dec. 20 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St.
The first service will be at 9 a.m. at the Center Celebration service, which takes place in the Center of St. John’s at the Jackson Street entrance, and utilizes contemporary sacred music and songs and texts in retelling the story of the prophecy and birth of Christ led by the Center Celebration musicians.
The traditional Service of Lessons and Carols will be offered at 11 a.m. in the main church of St. John’s. This offering will be led by the Chancel Choir, Men’s Chorus, Cantio Sacra, soloists, organ, brass, timpani and strings and hand bells.
There will not be an 8:30 a.m. chapel service this Sunday.
Word of Life
The Word of Life Family Worship Center will celebrate Christmas with a musical, “The Joy of Christmas,” this Sunday during the 11 a.m. service.
The drama ministry and dance ministries will participate. The music ministry choirs have combined for a special Christmas choir, along with special solos to provide the music. For more information call 704-633-2431.
Bethel and Grace UMCBethel and Grace United Methodist Churches are partnering for music presentations at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 20.
Saturday’s presentation will be at Grace UMC, 846 Faith Road; Sunday’s will be at Bethel UMC, 2380 Long Ferry Road.
“Born a Savior, Born a King” was written by John Purifoy. Performed by the combined choirs of Grace and Bethel, it will be accompanied by an orchestral ensemble. Additional music will be provided by a brass ensemble, handbells, and a contemporary praise band.
Both presentations are free and open to the public.
Church of God
CHINA GROVE óSouth China Grove Church of God , 163 Third Ave., will present a sing-along cantata entitled “Christmas in Song” on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m.
Featured in the cantata will be New Beginning, a choir of children and teens. New Beginning will also present a drama on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.
The evening service will be followed by finger foods in the fellowship hall.

Salem Lutheran
On Dec. 20, Salem Lutheran Church will observe the fourth Sunday of Advent with a Unity Sunday.
On Unity Sundays, there is a single service at 10:45 a.m. At 8:30 a.m. breakfast will be served by Lutheran Men in the fellowship hall. The theme of the 10:45 a.m. service is “God’s Word through the Carols of Christmas.”
The carols will be sung by the congregation, choir and soloists, and accompaniment and instrumental music will be provided on organ, piano, saxophone, guitar and hammered dulcimer.
The church will hold a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion, with preservice music at 10:30 p.m. and the service beginning at 10:50 p.m.
Mt. Moriah Lutheran
On Dec. 20, the combined choirs of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mount Moriah Church Road, will present their annual Christmas concert.
Christmas Eve, the church will offer two programs. At 5 p.m.,the Sunday School Department will present a family program featuring a Christmas musical entitled “Oh Savior, Where Art Thou?” This is a humorous retelling of the birth of the baby Jesus using traditional music, including a bluegrass band.
At 9 p.m., there will be a candlelight service of Holy Communion.
On Dec. 27, there will be a special service of carols and readings during the 10:30 a.m. worship time.
At 6 p.m., the Sunday school department will present a second performance of “Oh Savior, Where Art Thou?”
