The man who robbed a Salisbury pharmacy Monday night is believed to have committed the same crime in four other North Carolina cities, according to the Salisbury Police Department.
Detective Mike Colvin said the man seen in surveillance footage robbing the CVS at 1702 E. Innes St. appears to be the same man who robbed drugstores in Albemarle, Hickory, Rutherfordton and Statesville.
“It’s the same man and the same M.O.” Colvin said.
He said that a robbery in Mocksville might also be connected.
About 10 p.m. Monday, a man in a baseball cap, light-colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans entered the drugstore.
He approached a pharmacist and assistant, pulled what was described as a silver handgun and demanded the drug OxyContin.
He escaped with a bag containing an unknown quantity of the pills.
Video from the Albemarle CVS store shows what appears to be the same man, wearing a baseball cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
Footage from another camera at that store shows the gun, a large silver revolver.
The suspect is a white male about 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-633-5333.
