CONCORD ó Mark Nantz has resigned as president of Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast to assume the leadership position at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C., a hospital press release said.
With this change, which is effective in January, an interim president will be named before year end, with Nantz having agreed to remain available for the next few weeks to assist in the transition of responsibilities to the interim executive.
The process for selecting a permanent replacement will begin after the holidays, with various members of the medical staff and Advisory Board participating in the selection of the ultimate successor.
Carolinas HealthCare System has a longstanding relationship with Bon Secours through its shared joint ownership agreement of the Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, S.C.
“We wish Mark well in his new role at St. Francis Hospital,” said Dennis Phillips, Executive Vice President-Metro Group at Carolinas HealthCare System. “Mark’s leadership at CMC-NorthEast has resulted in numerous positive changes for that facility which have enhanced the quality of care the hospital delivers to its patients and the level of services the hospital provides.”
