A China Grove woman airlifted to a Winston-Salem hospital following a two-vehicle wreck on US. 29 is in good condition.
Rescue workers had to cut Mellicha Gardner from her smashed 1994 Geo after the collision around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Peach Orchard Road and U.S. 29.
Rowan EMS transported her to Rowan Regional Medical Center where she was immediately airlifted to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
A hospital spokesman said today she is in good condition.
Officer J.P. Miller of the Salisbury Police Department reported that Gardner drove her vehicle from Peach Orchard Road into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by David Livengood, 48, of Cameron Drive. He was going north on U.S. 29.
Livengood was treated and released at Rowan Regional.
Charges are pending.
