The Rowan County Health Department said today that Rowan has not received any of the H1N1 vaccine that is the subject of a nationwide recall.
Some of the recalled vaccine ó which was for children 6 months to 35 months of age ó is in North Carolina.
Certain swine flu vaccine lots are being voluntarily recalled because the manufacturer determined it may not be strong enough to provide full immunity.Rowan County Health Department has not received any of that vaccine.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not recommend doctors readminister flu shots to those who received vaccine from these lots.
North Carolina has received sufficient vaccine to meet the needs of the affected age group as well as the general population, health officials say. Everyone is encouraged to get immunized against H1N1.
