Brady receives honor for helping clients

Neurosurgeon a presenter in Vegas
Mooresville ó Dr. Jeffrey S.Yablon, a neurosurgeon with Lake Norman Neurological and Spinal Surgery, was a guest presenter at a recent conference in Las Vegas that was hosted by Steris Corp., Phillips, BrainLab, NBBJ (architects), and The Advisory Board.
The conference, “Designing High Performance ORs: Improving Surgical Care with Emerging Technologies,” featured Yablon because of his experience in an integrated operating room. He was asked to present Neurosurgical OR: Advancements in Patient Care to the group of attendees including physicians, operating room directors, architects, marketers and planners.
Yablon discussed defining a hybrid operating room, an actual operating room located within the surgical suite that accommodates interventional and minimally invasive surgery within a given specialty within a hospital.

Union Power handing out free light bulbs
To promote energy efficiency and help save energy dollars for their members, Union Power Cooperative will be sending out a special mailer containing two complimentary compact fluorescent bulbs to each of the cooperative’s members during the month of December.
Union Power Cooperative will be mailing 116,000 bulbs to 65,000 members throughout the five county area the union serves. Members should start to receive the packages by the beginning of December.
Compact Fluorescent light bulbs save an average of $30 per bulb in energy costs, and use 75 percent less energy than a standard light bulb.
Cabarrus Senior Link group plans to meet Tuesday
The Cabarrus Senior Link group, professionals who work with seniors, will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.

RCCC basic supervision, project management courses scheduled
CONCORD ó The Corporate and Professional Development Office at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will offer basic supervision and project management courses in early 2010.
RCCC will offer the “Basic Supervision Certificate” program 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, March 18 ń April 15. The course fee is $315, including class materials. The class will meet at RCCC’s Cabarrus Business & Technology Center (CBTC), 660 Concord Parkway North, in Concord. The basic supervision course teaches principles of interpersonal communication, effective listening, how to give constructive feedback, how to delegate work for shared success, and how to give recognition.
RCCC will offer the “Fundamentals of Project Management” course 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 10 ń April 14. There is a course fee of $745, plus materials costing approximately $100. The class will meet at the CBTC. Project planning, scheduling, resource assignment, documentation, and scope definition are covered in the course.

Director buys rights to Cabarrus Arena’s antique, collectible show Lydia Sullivan, show director of the Greater Charlotte Antique & Collectible Show, has purchased the rights to the show from The Art Fair Co. CEO, Michael Franks. Franks acquired the show earlier this year from dmg world media.
The Cabarrus Arena will be working with Sullivan to ensure the continued success of the show.
