A motorcycle rider suffered a broken bone when a pickup truck pulled in front of him Thursday on U.S. 52 near Rockwell.
Timothy Elrod, 52, of 1215 Lower Palmer Road, was riding north on U.S. 52 about a mile south of Rockwell when a pickup driven south by Tristan Bradshaw, 21, of 103 Milton St., Salisbury, pulled across his lane toward a private drive, N.C. Highway Patrol Trooper C.F. Rogers said.
Elrod’s motorcycle T-boned the pickup. Elrod went flying off the motorcycle, which continued on and ended up under the front end of a car behind the pickup, Rogers said. Neither Bradshaw nor the driver of the third vehicle was injured, the trooper said.
Elrod was flown to Carolinas Medical Center with a broken femur.
Bradshaw was charged with failure to yield and driving with a suspended license.
