Workshop for family child-care providers
Many individuals do not know it is a felony in North Carolina to provide care for more than two children that are not related to them.
Smart Start Rowan is offering a one-day workshop for potential providers who are interested in caring for more than two children in their home.
This workshop is a comprehensive review of the N.C. Family Child Care Home rules and regulations and will focus on licensing information, regional specific zoning and sanitation requirements and detailed information about starting and operating a program.
The workshop will be held on Sept. 23, a Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Smart Start Rowan, 1839 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., Salisbury.
The workshop costs $25, which includes the Family Child Care Handbook published by the N.C. Division of Child Development.
