CLEVELAND — A West Rowan High School student faces multiple felony counts of having guns on school property.
The school resource officer found a shotgun and rifle in the student’s car on school property.
Austin Tyler Moore, 17, of 107 Paris St., Cleveland, was arrested Thursday morning at the school.
Deputy B.T. Rucker, the school resource officer, told Magistrate Steven Julian that he observed Moore in the parking lot acting strange.
Rucker subsequently searched Moore’s vehicle and found the .20-gauge shotgun and .22-caliber rifle in the trunk.
Moore was released to his parents with his first court appearance set for Monday in Rowan County District Court.
