Update 6:30 ó Police have identified the man found dead in his Salisbury home this morning as dentist Dr. David Boyd.
Boyd, 47, of 9 Pine Tree Road, was found in his bedroom by a co-worker who went to Boyd’s home when he didn’t show up for work.
Police Chief Mark Wilhelm said there is no sign of forced entry into the home, but Wilhelm said there are signs of violence.
The death is not a suicide, Wilhelm said, but investigators have not yet been able to find the cause of death.
Wilhelm said he has called in the SBI to assist with crime scene investigation, and he expects them to work throughout the day at the scene.
“There is evidence that this is not a natural death,” Wilhelm said.
The victim’s wife, Dr. Kathy Streiff Boyd, and their three children have been vacationing at the beach and arrived back in Salisbury this afternoon. She is also a dentist.
