Update: The child’s guardian has been found.
Rowan County Department of Social Services is investigating the incident.
The Kannapolis Police Department responded to the 700 block of Washington Lane this morning at 10:30 a.m. and found a 3-year-old, black child, approximately 3 feet tall, approximately 35 pounds, wearing a pink top and blue jean skirt.
The little girl states her name is Vera.
The Kannapolis Police Department requests assistance in locating the child’s family.
