On Sept. 4, members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the Lexington Police Department, and the Salisbury Police Department, conducted an undercover operation during which Wraymell Jamall Weaks, Jimmy Leverne Toomer Jr., and Wayne Stewart sold approximately 2 pounds of marijuana to an undercover officer.
This was the third undercover purchase made from Weaks over a two-month period. According to the Sheriff’s Department, on July 9, Weaks sold .4 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover officer and on July 14, Weaks sold 10 hydrocodone and .3 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover officer.
Immediately following the undercover purchase last Thursday, a search warrant was executed at Weaks’ mother’s residence, 110 Martin St., apartment 2, Granite Quarry.
Investigators also received permission from Toomer to search his apartment at 110 Martin St., apartment 4. During these searches, investigators located and seized 26 dosage units of hydrocodone and several items of drug paraphernalia.
Weaks, 22, of 190 Berwick Court, Concord, was arrested and charged with the following crimes: possession with intent to sell cocaine (two counts), sell/deliver cocaine (two counts), possession with intent to sell schedule III controlled substance, trafficking opium by possession (two counts), trafficking opium by sell, possession with intent to sell marijuana, sell/deliver marijuana, and conspire to sell marijuana. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $200,000 secured bond, pending a first appearance in court today.
Toomer, 37, 110 Martin St., apartment 4, was arrested and charged with the following crimes: possession with intent to sell marijuana, sell/deliver marijuana, conspire to sell marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $50,000 secured bond, pending a first appearance in court today.
Stewart, 34, 587 Union Heights Blvd., Salisbury, was arrested and charged with the following crimes: sell/deliver marijuana, possession with intent to sell marijuana, and conspiring to sell marijuana. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond, pending a first appearance in court on Monday.
