Authorities charged three Rowan County teens with breaking into the Webb Road flea market early Wednesday.
Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an alarm at the flea market around 12:45 a.m.
Sgt. Mike Brady saw two males running from the flea market. He caught one person inside the flea market, said Capt. John Sifford.
He identified that person as Raymond Lee Burch Jr., 19, of 628 W. Bank St.
Sifford said Burch led deputies to two other suspects.
Deputies Craig Earnhardt and Jerry Croyle took into custody two more suspects walking in front of the flea market, Sifford said. They were identified as Robert Maurice Singletary, 17, of 730 N. Main St., and Eric Eugene Burgess, 18, of 706 S. Rowan Ave., Spencer.
Investigators located three bags holding miscellaneous items including candy, assorted food, jewelry, smoking devices and T-shirts. Officials also found bolt cutters and rubber gloves.
Authorities say the suspects used the bolt cutters to cut the fence and get inside the flea market.
Burch, Singletary and Burgess have each been charged with felony breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, misdemeanor vandalism to real property and felony larceny.
The three remained in the Rowan County Detention Center on Wednesday, each under a $5,000 bond.
Their first appearance in District Court was scheduled for today.
