Three teenagers who authorities believe operated a theft ring face more charges.
Dustin Hartsell, 16, of 309 N. Moriah St., Landis, Tina Austin, 16, of 135 Cedar Ridge Lane, China Grove, and Timothy Wiseman Jr., 17, of 162 Kitty Lane, China Grove, were charged Friday with one count breaking or entering a motor vehicle and one count misdemeanor larceny, according to arrest warrants in the Rowan County Magistrate’s Office.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged the teens with breaking into a 1998 Toyota Camry on Oct. 7 and stealing a GPS navigation system and a digital camera.
The teens, along with Derrion Crawford, 16, of 707 Valley St., Landis, have already been charged with stealing items from Austin’s parents’ home.
Investigators discovered the theft ring after they responded to a call from Austin’s parents saying she had run away.
