Suspect in theft from Burger King had serious case of munchies

A hungry Charlotte man is being held in Rowan County jail after being arrested in Salisbury and charged with stealing $365 in chicken and other food from a Nash County Burger King.
Derek Leonard Stephens, 30, of 5434 Viemont Drive in Charlotte, is charged with larceny by employee. He is accused of stealing three cases of Burger King chicken tenders, a case of Burger King chicken fries, a case of french fries, a 25-pound bag of onions and a case of whipped cream while he was employed at the Rocky Mount Burger King.
Bond is set at $2,500.
