A woman discovered her wallet missing from her purse after she gave another female a ride, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
Helen R. Turner told deputies she and a friend gave the suspect a ride on Old Beatty Ford Road in Rockwell the afternoon of March 14. Afterwards, the wallet was gone from the purse she had left in the vehicle’s back seat.
In other Sheriff’s Office reports:
– Two 16-year-old students, Colton R. Overcash of 1315 Dunn’s Mountain Road, and William Harley Hodges of 507 Hickory St., Granite Quarry, were both charged with simple assault after they were involved in a March 17 fight in the main hallway at East Rowan High School, 175 St. Luke’s Church Road.
– Tammy Gaines Wallace of Salisbury reported a March 15 credit card fraud at a convenience store at 3005 E. N.C. 152, China Grove.
– Linda and Jerry Watson of China Grove, reported fraudulent activity in their checking account between Feb. 23 and March 16.
– Thomas Alexander Mauldin, 51, was charged March 17 with felony breaking and entering a building.
– Desmond Dewayne Toomer, 23, was charged March 17 with felony possession of a stolen firearm.
– James Jordan, 36, was charged March 17 with communicating threats at 3990 Statesville Blvd.
– Wayne Allen Propst, 27, was charged March 18 with felony fugitive from justice at 1759 Sherrills Ford Road.
– Helen R. Turner of New London reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle March 14 while it was parked on Old Beatty Ford Road in Rockwell.
– Terry Collins, owner of Woodleaf BP, 3335 N.C. 801, Woodleaf, reported six cartons of cigarettes valued at $192 were stolen in two separate March 18 shopliftings at his business. One occurred between 6:22 and 8:42 a.m., and the second at 2 p.m.
– Robert C. Taylor of Rowan Vocational Opportunities, 2728 Old Concord Road, reported a catalytic converter was cut off a state-owned van parked at the workshop the night of March 17.
– Ross Eugene Howard, 184 Catfish Terrace, reported a $4,000 utility trailer stolen from his property March 18.
– Robert Leon Brush of Granite Quarry reported a $650 dishwasher stolen the night of March 17 from a house he is building at 250 Hidden Oaks Drive, Rockwell.
– Joshua Luke Jones, 19, 1090 John Miller Road, Rockwell, was charged March 18 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer in the 1000 block of John Miller Road.
– Andrew Sean Freeman, 5303 Mooresville Road, reported a burglar broke into his home March 18 and stole a guitar and amplifier. Total loss was $500.
– John Felix Rink, 2485 Poole Road, reported a generator and tools stolen when someone broke into his storage building between March 13 and 18. Total loss was $5,250.
– Sheriff’s Deputy M.M. Causey struck a deer while patrolling on East Ridge Road March 18. Damage to the patrol car totaled $1,000.
– Wayne Allen Propst, 27, was charged March 18 at 1759 Sherrills Ford Road with being a fugitive from justice.
– Jeramie Stefaun Forrest, 17, was charged March 18 with felony motor vehicle theft.
– Billie Allen Lewis, 49, was charged March 18 with failure to return hired property.
– Charles David Allen, 60, was charged March 19 at 130 Ivory Lane, China Grove, with communicating threats.
– Donald H. Hart, 150 McShag Drive, Kannapolis, reported a four-wheeler and leaf blower stolen March 11 from his driveway. Total loss was $5,250.
– Brenda Kay Clark of Salisbury reported her purse stolen from her vehicle while it was at BeBops Restaurant, 5815 S. Main St., March 18.
– Frank Kiker of Richfield reported someone used his credit card fraudulently March 13 to purchase items in Illinois.
– A Salisbury couple were robbed March 20 at gunpoint at their Lazy Lane home by four suspects. Total loss was $10,310.
– A 25-year-old man reported he was assaulted March 20 at his Hurley School Road home by three suspects.
– Nathan Sloan Beaver, 31, was charged March 19 with assault on a female at 1309 Rental Ave., Kannapolis.
– Robert Lee Scoggins of Jack’s Wrecker Service, 270 Peeler Road, reported items valued at $350 stolen from a vehicle parked at the business the night of March 19.
– Ignacio Curiel, 460 Hallmark Estates Drive, reported his vehicle stolen from behind his home the night of March 19.
– Scott Lee Parrish, 225 Victoria St., reported the theft of a bicycle and toggle box from his property the night of March 20. Total loss was $115.
– Kelly Dale Durham reported a $400 welding lead stolen from DBL Construction, 2607 Woodsdale St., Kannapolis, between March 5 and 20.
– Ronnie W. Rogers, 1635 W. Ridge Road, reported the theft of a $50 push mower from his home between March 18 and 21.
– John Edward Brown, 240 Concordia Church Road, China Grove, reported a gas generator, battery drill and assorted drill bits stolen from a storage building at his home between March 19 and 21. Total loss was $1,330.
– Lisa Hall, 210 Geiger Lane, reported the theft of a $200 gas grill from her home between March 18 and 21.
– John Whitfield Drye, 409 N. Zion St., Landis, reported vandals caused $2,000 damage to his home between March 7 and 21.
– Keith Allan Adams reported a burglar broke into the Webb Road Flea Market, 905 Webb Road, just after 1 a.m. March 22.
– Danny Wayne Upright of Kannapolis reported the March 22 theft of a motor vehicle from 291 Misty Lane, Kannapolis. Also stolen from the vehicle was a gun and vehicle parts and accessories. Total loss was $2,505.
