Salisbury Tree board to host seminar
The Salisbury Tree board will host a complimentary seminar titled Trees of Salisbury on Oct. 28, a Tuesday, at Salisbury City Hall, 217 S. Main Street.
The free event will begin in City Council chambers at 8:30 a.m. with registration and morning refreshments. Seminar speakers will follow up by focusing on the growth and urbanization of small communities and the impact of these changes on trees and the natural environment. The seminar is scheduled to conclude around noon.
Speakers include Leslie Moorman of the N.C. Division of Forest Resources’ Urban and Community Forestry Program; Kathryn Clifton, Geographic Information Systems coordinator for the city; and Rodney Kreiser, county ranger for the N.C. Division of Forestry Resources.
The Arbor Day Foundation named Salisbury a Tree City USA community in April, the 22nd year the city has earned that designation.
