Salisbury Academy’s Mary Lou Williams’ second-graders studied the culture of the ancient Greeks, concluding with their own Olympics competition ó in togas ó and a Greek meal. In the top picture, Zach Johnson throws the discus. In the middle picture, Sarah Clifton races down the court in the gymnasium. In the tug of war at right, Cole Hayes, in front, Reilly Ploplis and Sarah Clifton can be seen pulling. The students also competed in ‘chariot races,’ using tricycles, and ‘horse races,’ by riding brooms. All the students wore wreaths of ivy at the special meal.
