Nursery reunion
MOORESVILLE ó The Stork’s Landing Maternity Center at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center welcomed more than 35 “graduates” of its Special Care Nursery Sept. 6 for the fourth annual reunion since its Level III Special Care Nursery opened in September 2004.
The event, hosted by the Women’s Services nursing staff, attracted more than 150 guests, including alumni, their families, nurses and doctors. The families shared stories and experiences while the children played games, built sand castles, sped down inflatable slides and enjoyed Mickey Mouse-themed displays and activities.
“Graduates” also added their footprints to the Stork’s Landing Lullaby Wall. The wall is constructed of tiles representing more than 400 high-risk infants who have been cared for by the hospital’s multi-disciplinary medical team. The nursery is the only facility in Iredell County with around-the-clock neonatologists.
