The annual fall kickoff for the Rowan-Salisbury Ministers Association takes place noon Wednesday at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
The group will hear from several Rowan Regional executives: CEO Chuck Elliott; Public Relations and Marketing Officer Zandra Spencer; and Chaplain James Cook, who serves as manager of patient relations.
The luncheon is free to area clergy and takes place in the Clay Class Room in the fourth floor of the patient tower.
Ministers who visit the hospital should get their new photo identification clergy card at the time, and the association is asking for volunteers to visit a few other patients.
The group has invited area mayors and elected officials to the kickoff.
The group will also thank two pastors from First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury ó the Rev. Dr. Jim Dunkin, senior pastor, and the Rev. Dr Randy Kirby, who has served as president for the past two years.
First Presbyterian has handled mailings for the ministers’ group and provided luncheons and meeting space.
The Rev. Dr. Fleming Otey currently serves as president of the group. The Rev. Robert Freeman is president emeritus, and the Rev. Authur Lee Heggins is treasurer.
