Rowan Democrats to meet Saturday
The Rowan County Democratic Executive Committee will meet Saturday morning to select a replacement for Bobbie Earnhardt as Register of Deeds.
The committee will meet at 10 a.m. in the Cohen Administration Building, 130 W. Innes St.
Genoal Russell, chairman of the local Democratic Party, said the executive committee will consider any registered Democrat who wants the job.
Earnhardt, who is retiring, has endorsed John Brindle, 36, of Gold Hill, who has worked in the Register of Deeds office for four years.
The Rowan County Board of Commissioners is required to appoint whoever the Executive Committee selects.
