Rockwell man accused of taking lumber

ROCKWELL ó The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Rockwell man for stealing six boards of treated lumber from Robin’s Wood Preserving at 1750 Old Maid Road.
Frankie Wayne Williams, 42, of 1326 Percy Lane was charged with misdemeanor larceny, injury to real property, first-degree trespassing and possession of burglary tools.
The wood stolen was valued at $120. Reports said damage to a wooden fence was $200. The burglary tools were pliers and a pair of bolt cutters.
Williams was placed under $1,000 bond. The incident occurred Saturday. His first appearance in court will be today. J.A. Owens of the Sheriff’s Office investigated.
In another incident, the Sheriff’s Office arrested three men Sunday in connection with more than $200 worth of damage to landscaping on Howard Hurlocker’s property at 2200 Phaniels Church Road.
Charged with injury to real property are Zachary Edwin Green of 1012 W. Stokes St., China Grove; and Jacob Wayne Riggs and Derrick Anthony McKeown, both of 160 Waycross Drive.
Green also was charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) on jail or prison premises (the Rowan County Detention Center).
Each man was placed under $1,000 bond. J.A. Lombard of the Sheriff’s Office investigated.
