Carl Ford and Celeste Ward were honored with awards at the Rowan County Republican Party’s Lincoln-Reagan Dinner on Friday.
Ford was named Republican of the Year in honor of his service to the party and the community.
He is president of Ford Broadcasting and is a candidate for the Rowan County Board of Commissioners. He also serves on Rowan County’s Social Services and Planning boards.
Ford and his wife, Angela, live in China Grove.
Celeste Ward, the treasurer of the Republican Executive Committee, received the Noreen Foster Memorial Award for Republican Volunteer of the Year.
A retired senior vice president from Bank of America, Ward dedicated herself to setting up a new accounting system for the local Republican Party.
Ward and her husband Bill live in Salisbury.
