Applications for development center being accepted
KANNAPOLIS ó McKnight Child Development Center, 1300 Glenn Ave., is now accepting applications for the 2008-09 school year for children who will be 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 31.
Kannapolis City Schools has two preschool programs for children living in the district.
Head Start is a program for children ages 3 and 4 who are income eligible at McKnight. The Wee Wonders program for 4-year-olds is at Woodrow Wilson and Fred L. Wilson elementary schools.Both offer kindergarten preparation through developmentally appropriate curriculum, bright classrooms and qualified staff. Services are available for all children with special needs.
Parents can make an appointment to complete an application by calling 704-932-7433. The child’s birth certificate and immunization record, proof of residence in the Kannapolis City School system (light or water bill) and proof of family income is required.
Priority is given to eligible applications completed in February and March.
