Windshear names two new technicians
Windshear Inc. of Concord has hired two new specialized technicians for its 180-mph rolling-road wind tunnel that opens in April. They are Bryon Randolph and Peter Schneider.
Randolph will be the instrumentation and calibration technician, and his responsibilities include development and maintenance of electrical and controls systems.
Schneider is the mechanical maintenance technician, and he is responsible for preventive maintenance on the rolling road and all related applications, as well as mechanical maintenance aspects around the facility. Schneider also is the health, safety and environmental representative.
Randolph worked seven years at FMC Lithium as the electronic and instrumentation technician. He oversaw calibrations for the chemical plant, including documentation management, and was responsible for electronic troubleshooting plant-wide. He has more than 20 years of experience focusing on hands-on electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair.
Schneider has more than 15 years of experience in maintenance mechanics and supervision, plus experience in training employees on safety and proper lock out procedures. Early in his career, he worked in Germany for Petri Inc. and also spent 12 years in the military.
Home Instead honor
Donna Cuthbertson has been named Caregiver of the Month for February at Home Instead Senior Care, 625 W. Innes St.
This award is given to an employee who goes above and beyond the call of duty in caring for seniors with whom they are entrusted.
Cuthbertson joined the Salisbury Home Instead team last September. “Donna sees this as a ministry, and she truly ‘ministers’ ever so gently to her clients,” said Maxine Lang, office manager. “She does for our seniors whatever it is that they may need and has the ability to sense that which they can not express, filling those needs too. Our clients trust and admire her caring heart.”
Cuthbertson and her husband have been doing street ministry for 17 years, making it a family event, including their seven children each summer, as they minister to those in need. The couple live in Cleveland and also have four grandchildren.
Home Instead Senior Care is a leading provider of non-medical in home care and companionship services for seniors.
Driver of the year
James Sloan has been named Driver of the Year for Jerry Prater Trucking Inc. of Salisbury.
Sloan was also a nominee for the National Association of Small Trucking Companies national award, and came in 15th in that competition.
