The R3 Center is offering free career development workshops and resume clinics in January for adults in Cabarrus and Rowan counties.
Located at 164 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, the R3 Center is a career development center established by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to assist workers who are unemployed or under-employed.
January workshops include:

The R3 Center also will offer a number of free resume clinics to help job searchers improve their current resume or create a new one from scratch. They will be at 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3 and 8; 9 a.m. Jan. 10 and 26; 6:30 p.m. Jan 15; 2 and 6:30 p.m. Jan 23; and 2 p.m. Jan. 30.

Upcoming classes
The Customized Training and Development Office of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is offering Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word classes for all levels of users as well as Spanish, project management and customer service classes.
Classes begin in January, with all to be completed by April. Many are two-week courses. All are offered at RCCC’s Cabarrus Business & Technology Center, 660 Concord Parkway North, Concord. The class schedule includes:
– MS Word-Basic, 8 a.m.-noon Wednesdays, Jan. 23-30.
– MS Word-Intermediate, 8 a.m.-noon Wednesdays, Feb. 6-13.

– MS Excel-Basic, 8 a.m.-noon Wednesdays, March 5-12.

QuickBooks course
Small business owners looking for help with QuickBooks Pro can take a course offered by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College’s Small Business Center.
“QuickBooks and Your Business” will be offered from 6-9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays Jan. 21-Feb. 4 at RCCC’s Cabarrus Business & Technology Center, 660 Concord Parkway N., Concord.
Tuition is $55, and the textbook costs $25.
The course will start with an introduction to QuickBooks Pro, including the accounting principles it uses. From there, students will cover working with customers, vendor transactions and creating inventory, payroll and banking accounts.
