Prevent Child Abuse Rowan to hold oyster roast fundraiser

Prevent Child Abuse Rowan is holding its first oyster roast to benefit the organization and community unity Sept. 27 at Castaways Seafood and Oyster Bar, 119 N. Link Ave.
The day begins at 8 a.m. with a 5K run/walk and half-mile fun run. The cost is $15 in advance and $20 the morning of the race.
From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. there will be a kids’ carnival featuring a jumping house, food, face painting, fire truck, magician, puppet show, dance contest and games.
The oyster roast begins at 6 p.m. with three options: two-dozen oysters and a barbecued half chicken; two dozen oysters and one pound of shrimp; or one pound of shrimp and a barbecued half chicken. Each option includes all you can eat corn on the cob and hush puppies.
Music will be provided by the band Divided By Four.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event. Alcohol will be available for purchase.
